Somali families and neighbors are an integral part of Minnesota’s communities, contributing culture, commerce, and community spirit. Yet rising anti-Somali rhetoric and harassment can create fear and uncertainty in daily life.

The Minnesota Response Network (MRN) is committed to ensuring Somali neighbors feel safe, respected, and valued. Our rapid response network provides immediate assistance for harassment, threats, or community-based intimidation, offering legal guidance and safety resources.

MRN also fosters community solidarity through neighborhood initiatives, local events, and partnerships with civic organizations. These programs help Somali families connect, share resources, and build networks of mutual support. By strengthening community bonds, MRN ensures that neighbors are never isolated in the face of adversity.

Through storytelling and public education, MRN highlights Somali neighbors’ contributions, countering negative narratives and celebrating the positive impact Somali families have on Minnesota communities. Our advocacy work ensures that Somali voices are heard and respected in civic life.

MRN’s efforts create safer streets, supportive schools, and welcoming neighborhoods. Somali neighbors can feel confident that their safety, dignity, and well-being are a priority.
